Audience Etiquette

Integrated Learning Area – Mathematics & Drama

An important part of learning about dance is how to behave as an audience member. Many children will have limited experience of live performance. Watching a performance can be exciting, and a little overwhelming.

In these activities they observe similarities and differences between being an audience for sport and dance. They decide on their own classroom rules through a role play activity. By teaching students dance classroom performance etiquette as they watch their peers perform, they can learn how to react when they are watch professional performers.
